SACRIFICE IN DOL GULDUR

You step through the rough hole, pushing aside the blood red curtain, emerging into...

Profane Pit

An erie red glow pervades this room, casting all its contents in a crimson wash of color. The light eminates from a stone altar at the far end of the room on a raised daisis. Built upon the altar is large fire that burns blood red.

Massive round colums of rough stone flank the room in two rows. Before the diasis lays a single warg pelt, close to ten feet wide streched out across the floor.

Little else can be seen here as the red flame is the only source of lighting; where that red light does not reach there is only darkness and shadow. Contents:

Rakerath

Obvious exits:

Blood Red Curtain <BRC> leads to Shaman's Pit.

Obsidian Archway <OA> leads to Morlat<Second Level>.

Rakerath is standing behind the altar. On the altar is an Orcs body mutilated and desecrated beyond recognition. The Orcs heart and other internal organs lay beside the body as Rakerath's hands are covered in the orcs blood. He seems to be drawing some letters in the blood of the orc upon the altar

Guldhek walks into the temple quietly, trying not to disturb the Eldest Orc, who seems to be working on some sacrifice ritual. He kneels down about 6 feet away from Rakerath the Eldest and starts to chant some kind of prayer in a low, humming voice. Kugart emerges from the obsidian archway into the somber surroundings of the temple.

Kugart has arrived.

Rakerath calls up to the sky in a clear cold voice, "Let this orc that has served the well bring pleasure to you in his death. Let his blood poor from the Altar of hate and feed your thirst. For he has been chosen to join you in your power." With That he picks up the heart of the old uruk and holds it up to the sky. The heart begins to make a sizziling sound and bubble. Suddenly the heart flares up in a orange fire as it burns in the eldest hand, but does not burn him. The other organs on the altar begin to do the same thing one after another spreading like some ghastly evil.

Chanting begins to come from the shadows of the temple from deep voices as the shamans take up there part in the ritual. The whole temple is filled with shamans chatting to the darklord and the darkness seems to breathe a life of it's on and fuel the fire on the altar. As the fire consumes the parts the chanting grows louder and louder reaching toward a undeniable crescendo.

Kugart is watching this. He is wondering what the heck is going on, the flaming up of organs is sort of frighting him, but not too much, he shows no pitty for the guy on the alter, dead. He thinks he must of diserved it.

Guldhek starts to cheer as the Eldest holds up the chosen Uruk's heart and it sets fire. "May this sacrifice help you become even mightier oh Lord!", he yells as he jumps to his feet and watches the Eldests movements.

Rakerath calls out again to the lord as the chanting reaches it's climax and the fires have completly consumed the orc body in a burst of flame. All that remains of the Orc's body is a bloody stain on the altar not even ash remains and then he looks down from his religous ectasy and takes in those around him, "Do you know what just happened?" The question was directed to all in the temple

Kugart announces."The power of The Eye"

One by one the Shamans leave there places in the shadows and bow lowly to the eldest before going out of the temple solemnly leaving the Eldest with the others (Kugart and Guldhek).

Guldhek nods in affirmation "I think so, oh Eldest, you just fed The Eye's might and power with the soul of that Uruk." He then looks up, wondering why he had had the stupidity and guts to speak to the Eldest, and then kneels again in front of him, bowing his head in respect.

Rakerath nods to both of those with him and then says to them, "You both speak wise, but there is more for you to learn. I have been away very long and I am not sure what the populous knows about the religion. Tell me what do you think the ShadowVoice is? What are it's origins and how do you think it can affect you directly?"

Kugart says, "The Shadow Voice is an organization meant to spread the word of The Eye across the world. It came about when the Grand Orc decided to create such a holy organization and thus the Shadow Voice was born. I belive that if we give enough to The Eye we may get something back, but to serve the Eye is enough honor by itself."

Guldhek nods and says "I couldn't have said it better Eldest One"

Rakerath nods to the two and raises his hand up in the air palm up. A blue flame lights up in his hand and with a nod it goes to the center of the crowd leaving his hand. The flame glows ominously illuminating the face of the Eldest and all the other flames in the room go dead. The pit is now only lit by the strange blue flame and the words and fire in the old orcs eyes, "The ShadowVoice was created to make the perfect Army? Does this surprise you, that our purpose is for the Army?" He looks around at the others to see how they respond

Kugart the Eldest just confused the heck out of him and is not saying anything.

Kugart A more appropriate pose would of been, "Kugart's face twist in a mask of confusion as the elders speaks, but he offers no response but his stunned look.

Guldhek shakes his head "Well, The Army is The Eye's most important way of expressing and using his awesome power. So it doesn't surprise me that much, no"

Kugart says, "Is this a "real army " as in soldiers or an army of preachers to spread the glory of The Eye?"

Rakerath nods to those around him and his face shows a little surprise at Guldhek's words and it becomes more thoughtfull. He then turns to Kugart again as the uruk speaks and he says, "Good question, you see the Army is The Eye's utensil to destroy those that oppose him, and to claim rulership over all beings. Though our army is tore apart by thoughts of personal gain, and fear of the Nine. Within the Eye's Army do you rarely see, loyalty simply because they wish to be loyal. No any signs of loyalty are given because of the fear of the punishment. This is where the ShadowVoice comes in, and this goes to the very core of everything we belive. Are you starting to understand?" The flame begins to change colors now from blue to red to orange to green and back again.

Kugart says, "yes,we police the police, meaning we keep the army in order."

Guldhek nods and looks at the flames, open wide and hums interestedly.

Rakerath nods to both of them, "You both learn fast though there is so much more that I intend to explain to you know. It is the religions job to bring loyalty into the army. Our goal is to make every uruk willing to die for there lord, out of nothing but

loyalty. With promises of great things, are you aware of these promises? What is promised to Orc that are truly Loyal to The Eye?"

Guldhek holds his heza

Guldhek holds his head in a 45 angle as he seems to be in deep thoughts about the Eldest's words. After a few moments he speaks "I think their live Eldest One. If Orc are disobeidiant they get punnished with death. So if Orc loyal they get rewarded with life."

Rakerath shakes his head to Guldhek, "No my son it is much more then that." He turns to Kugart and says, "Do you know?"

The flame seems to dance in the center a dance of death and lamentation as it slowly changes colors and burns evily in the temple, as if it is watching a listning to everything said.

Kugart says, "Immortality and truley great power."

Kugart says, "That is what the Eye promises."

Ouborog emerges from the obsidian archway into the somber surroundings of the temple.

Ouborog has arrived.

Nugakmog emerges from the obsidian archway into the somber surroundings of the temple.

Nugakmog has arrived.

Nugakmog places his bow behind his right calf. pulling till the dwarf gut string becomes slack, he slips it off and shoulders the now straight bow.

Ouborog comes slowly in through the archway's entrance, Nugakmog behind him as his pale skin is caught in the almost translucent glow of the crimson red light. His black eyes scan the temple and at seeing the eldest he bows his head respectfully before entering any further, his hands dropping to his sides while he steps towards a corner to submerge with its darkness in assumed silent prayer.

Rakerath nods to Kugart and then sees the others enter and he stands up. The room is lit by a single fire in the center of the room that changes color strangley. Around that stranger fire is a couple Orcs and a place were the eldest had been sitting. With his hands the eldest directs the fire up a little higher to illuminate the room more and he continues, "Immortality and power is the reward we gain for true service of the Eye. Let me explain."

Nugakmog follows and forgeting his bow was in his hand quickly slings it out of respect to the eldest. He scans the others gathered for any familar faces. At last he blends with the crowd gathered for blessing.

Rakerath nods to the others as they bow in respect and he looks up and continues, "For if an Orc is Truly Loyal to The Eye out of nothing but loyalty in the end he shall join in power with The Eye. He will become part of The Eye and his great power, and share in all of his victories. It is a long hard road to prove that you are truly loyal out of more then just fear of his minions. Loyal enough to die for the glory of the eye, and the spreading of his disease about the land." He pauses for a minute and looks around for any question or comments patiently waiting any feedback before continuing.

Ouborog observes Rakerath carefully with his emotionless, hollow, black eyes, their centers drawing any light cast in their direction deep into their bottomless pupils. On his face he wears a careful smile, neither arrogant or happy, but one of respect and standing. As the fire grows further in the center of the room, he takes balance with his hand and wiping some of the heat drawn sweat from his forehead he then assumes a seat behind the others with almost a purposeful distance.

The strange ball of fire continue to change colors, Red, Green, orange, and blue when it stops rising. The light illuminates the most evil features of all in the room and glistens off fresh blood, and gore on the altar.

Nugakmog listens intently to the prophets words and soeaks up before he can help his zealot self, "Yes! Yes! Death is but the final blessing of the eye. It is for the gift of death that I serve him. Who would want to remain forever in this wretched marred world."

Rakerath points to the Altar before him and the blood upon it, "This orc was loyal, and he has recieved the greatest gift. He has become part of The Eye and powerfull beyond belif. He was loyal and he profited from it. Who else out there is that loyal, there is very few I have seen. Most are led by self-gratification, or nothing but pure fear of the Nine. Do you think these fools shall join with the eye in his power? What becomes of those that refuse to be truly loyal in mind body and soul? Tell me, what do you think happens to these wretched souls?"

Nugakmog says in Uruk, "Oblivion!, Death that leads to oblivion!"

The strange fire in the center of the room goes out, and in it's place the torches along the wall light up. Casting foul shadows across the room as the Eldest religous ecstacy carries him further into a relationship with the eye. The calls of Nugakmog fuel his soul as it is a sign of that loyalty which he has spoken off.

Guldhek awakens from his vision and starts to walk to the altar as he shouts "Me!"

Rakerath seems to look at everyone present in the room and them alone. Each words seems to be directed to there very heart and no one elses, "Death, Death that leads to the hall of eternal feasting, were the God of Death awaits them with every torture none to us and many never even dreamed about. Self-Gratification in this world only leads to an eternity of seperation from the eye and everlasting torture. Are you one of these, or are you truly destined to join The Eye in eternal power and rulership!" His voice carries through the temple and hits home to each heart the words seem to vibrate from the very walls.

<Mordor> Rakerath says, "The ritual is starting now in the temple of DG, or profane pit as it is know. come one, come all"

Saliva begins to stream from Nugakmog's open maw as he feels the wave of zealousy overcome him, He sways to the Eldests words his eyes jealous of Guldek who has the courage to choose now to sacrifice for the Eye.

Guldhek positions himself in front of the altar, his head bowed down. He doesn't speak but his yellow eyes seem to burst in flames as he stands there. Visions of The Eye appear to his mind constantly as he awaits his salvation.

Nugakmog looks down asahmed, "I am not worthy to see this brave Uruk sacrificed! I am weak and can not make the commitment today! I am not worthy." His words break down into blubering sobs.

Rakerath looks directly to Nugakmog, "Then you better make yourself worthy. You must commit to the service of the eye. For if you do not die either here are on the battelfield for the eye, then you are no better then an elf." With that he reaches in his pouch and pulls forth a dagger named Dragon Tooth. The blade is named so because the blade resembles the tooth of a dragon gleaming inside the mouth of a red dragon (The hilt and crossgaurd). "This Uruk is the one that is not an elf this one on the altar now, watch him come to his destiny and remember this for as long as you live." He then raises his dagger and begins to pray in the dark langauge of Morbeth the dagger seems to glow in the light of the torches as if some holy weapon of purification Nugakmog looks up still blubbering and noding with agreement to the the Eldest's words of chastisement. "Eye's speed Guldhek! I will never forget your example and service! You are truly to be envied this day!"

The walls seem to begin to chant as the chants of the Shamans all over the fortress of DG seem to cultivate at this point. The chant again raising slowly, louder and louder and more and more Zealous. For the second time today a Uruk has proven his loyalty to the eye. As the chants raise so does the voice of the eldest and the gleaming dagger in his hand.

Nugakmog joins in the chanting humming it as he knows not the morbeth words.

Guldhek climbs up the altar and lays down on his head, his eyes still emiting a yellowish glow. As The Eldest One's prayer evolves, Guldhek's body start to convulse, first slightly then more and more, until his body is completely out of control and threatens to fall off the altar. Then it suddenly stops and Guldhek opens his mouth open wide and starts to chant in a voice that is clearly not his.

Rakerath calls out in Uruk as Guldhek convulses upon the altar, "See hypocrites" Again he seems to be talking directly to Nugakmog, "The Eye is accepting him, already this Orcs power grows and begins to join the eye. Already his path has been chosen, and already his reward are being recivied. Look carefully hypocrites and know that you may never have this if you do not become right in your heart. The eye calls out to you and offers you unlimited power, in return you fight and die for him. Commit yourself to the destruction of non-belivers." He raises his dagger higher, "I call upon the power of the eye, carrie this Uruks soul to you! Carry him to his eternal fate." The dagger glows red at the menchen of the eye and it raises to it's pinnacle ready to come down and strike it's victim like a snake

Nugakmog feels the direct gazr of the eldest on him, "I believe, I believe! I am a witness. The Eye! The Eye! I feel your presence."

The voice that erupts from Guldhek's Mouth starts to speak loud and clearly in Uruk language "Listen fools, the enemies of the Eye are growing in strength constantly! The Eye in it's whole should grow more rapidly then his enemies. But alas this is prevented by some fools that think it is necessary to kill eachother because they serve The Eye from another place. This has to stop! You should all realize that you serve the same Purpose or feel my wrath.". He then closes his mouth and releases one final long breath.

Nugakmog reels from what must have been the very words of Sauron himself.

Rakerath calls out again, "The eye has spoken. Listen not to me, but to him!" With that he brings the dagger down upon Guldhek carving out his very heart in a quick motion. In a matter of seconds the cut has finished and he pulls forth the very beating heart of the Snaga. He holds it up and show to all as it beats within his hand and then, as the last Uruk that was sacrificed, the heart burns into flames and devours itself yet does not harm the hand of the Eldest orc. . .

Jobunqorz emerges from the obsidian archway into the somber surroundings of the temple.

Jobunqorz has arrived.

Nugakmog sways almost swooning with religous ecstacy.

Rakerath continues holding the heart in the air as it completly burns to a cinder leaving not a trace. Soon the very body on the altar does the same thing leaving nothing but a fresh blood spot on altar. He looks to those present and calls out to them, 'You have seen the very manifestation of the eye. Does anyone deny this?"

Nugakmog nods now almost in a trance state.
