The Fate of the Burzum-Prakh

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

South Ithilien Road
To the north the road slants slightly to the east towards the Ephel Duath and the Land of Shadow. The road rises and falls over the hilly, forested terrain. To the south the road pulls away from the tall mountains, and the hills and forests lessen in intensity.

Ver-beeg arrives from the west.
Ver-beeg has arrived.

Gurth arrives from the west.
Gurth has arrived.

Gurth comes out of the hills, the waning light of dusk obscuring his passage until he is close to camp.

Grishnakh stands watchful, apart from the bustling activity of camp, as the orcs of Minas Morgul and Barad-dur prepare for another night's searching and exploration of the woods.

Ver-beeg comes into camp and is caring a dead wild boar..as he hisses at a few of the snagas that are about..he makes his way to the quartermasters wagon..and drops the dead beast off next to his wagon guards and says "Skin it..and make it read for a meal for the comanders of the army..it not ever day he get a change form dried meat.." he then move to a nearby fire to sit...

Gurth comes closer to camp at a leisurely pace, wending his way down the trodden paths.

Grishnakh half-turns, absently observing the arrival of Ver-beeg and other orcs. He seems unusually preoccupied, and his gaze lingers on Ver-beeg for a long moment.

Ver-beeg take , what looks like a bit of fresh meat out his his cloak and places it on the tursting pout fo his battleaxe hand then holds it over to heat the meat..and chuckles faintly to himself as he look to the camp for a moment..then to the uruk on the pole...

Grishnakh turns fully, after the pause, and walks toward Ver-beeg with a purposeful, thoughtful stride.

Grishnakh stops very near to Ver-beeg. A short but massive dark figure, he stands over the other orc and casts his pale wary gaze around the camp, from orc to orc.

Ver-beeg looks back to then fire and the meat he his cooking..then turns to look back to the camp as it has become smoe what quiet in the area around him..and is shocked to see the Vorazg comeing his way..quickly he stands and hold his weapon to the side..forgetting about the meat that is there...

Grishnakh watches Ver-beeg as the orc rises to attention, then speaks in a very low, soft voice. "Quartermaster and lieutenant. You are responsible for that crucifix?"

Ver-beeg nods quickly and says in a strong tone "Yes Vorazg..as per your orders.." he then looks quickly to the Crucifix then back to the Vorazg..

Grishnakh glances at the bloody crucifix for a second. "That was your High Shaman, leader of your tribe. Did that not stay your hand?"

Ver-beeg looks back to the crucifix and frowns a bit then looks back to the Vorazg and lowers his head "I took no joy in doing what I did...he attacked the leader of the Eyes army..that is a attack on the Eye it's self..." he then looks back up and says more softly "..I have attacked my leader and killed him...I know my death will be close at hand..but orders are orders.." then then lowers his head again...

Grishnakh nods slowly. "You say your death is close at hand. Why?"

Ver-beeg mutters softly.."I broke the gratest rule of the tribe...and I will have to face that in time..." he then gose very quiet...

Gurth finally arrives at camp. He passes within a half dozen yards of Grishnakh, and keeps going into the heart of it.

Grishnakh chuckles softly. "Not so. You will report to Golg, my standard-bearer. He will have questions for you. Continue to prove your worth, and I will see to it that you survive."

Grishnakh's eyes flicker to the side, perhaps in Gurth's direction, but no more. He continues to watch Ver-beeg.

Ver-beeg nods slowly then lifts his head again "Yes Vorazg..I will report to him as soon as he can be found.." he then looks to the camp for a moment "..Is there anything else Vorazg?

Grishnakh says, "Just one other thing. Your service has been commendable. There is a need for a new captain in Barad-dur. You will now be Tek'rak Lugburzob."

Ver-beeg looks back to the Vorazg and holds back a looks of shock..he only nods and says in a soft tone "I understand Vorazg..I will not fail you.." with that he turn and head off into the camp to look of the uruk known as Golg...

Grishnakh chuckles again softly, to himself this time, as Ver-beeg wanders off.

Grishnakh turns, then, looking carefully about the camp, his eyes searching carefully...

Gurth can be seen standing before a firepit.

Grishnakh moves slowly after a time, vaguely acknowledging occasional bows and salutes from orcs still within the camp and not scouring the woods. A circuitous route, but never out of sight, takes him near to the firepit.

Gurth tenses as he senses the signs of importance approaching. He turns and looks, and prepares for the worst by bowing his head once, then looking straight at Grishnakh.

Gurth glances at Grishnakh.

Grishnakh returns the gaze with a slight twisted smile and walks quite close, standing next to Gurth before the fire pit. Other orcs nearby back away.

Gurth turns his head, so that he is looking along his own shoulder to Grishnakh. He returns his gaze to the fore and says, "I suppose it had to happen sooner or later."

Grishnakh chuckles quietly, and keeps his voice very low. "Yes. Rumors and reports, uncertainties... Your presence has not gone unknown."

Gurth nods. He pauses, then says, "Now what happens?" He looks towards a wide expanse of sky above.

Grishnakh says, "Now, you reenter the service of the Eye. Old loyalty does not go unrewarded; your disappearances do not concern me. But I have a use for you, and few others will do. Indeed," he smiles coldly, "It is a use you may find appealing."

Gurth turns towards Grishnakh. "But of course. What?"

Grishnakh says, "The Burzum-Prakh. The assassins and skulkers of Lugburz. They failed to kill you, once, and they failed to kill me more recently. I want them brought to heel."

Gurth slowly smiles, and it continues to evolve into a full, albeit crooked grin. "Ironic. Once again, the hunter and the prey reverse."

Grishnakh says, "Yes." He chuckles again for a second. "They could be destroyed, but I think they may yet be of use. Some will need to die, first, though, so that the others will serve without dissent."

Gurth looks down at his scabbard. "I have been away for some time. The BP are not known to me by sight."

Grishnakh shakes his head dismissively. "They are easy enough to find. All bear the same tattoo on their eyelids, and their garb is often the same. But find one, and he will no doubt point out the others."

Gurth nods his head. "I will do this thing that you ask."

Grishnakh again bears a cold smile. "Good. Ver-beeg is among them, but he fears their wrath. I have promoted him, and will place him under my protection. If any approach him, you may start with them. Otherwise, he is not your concern."

Gurth says, "How will I know this Ver-beeg?"

Grishnakh says, "He is the quartermaster of Lugburz. And he brought in the boar this evening. You were not far behind."

Gurth lets out a small ahh. "Very well. I will await the coming days."
